Billy Dib vs Juan Antonio Rodriguez. Dib isn't defending his
IBF featherweight title here, it appears, and this is pretty much a
nothing fight for him. Rodriguez (21-3, 19 KO) doesn't have too bad a
record at a glance, but he's never fought anyone. BoxRec rankings have
their problems, but as we've said many times, they're good to get a
general feel for someone unknown, and the system figures Rodriguez is
the 84th best super featherweight in the world. Or the 17th best Mexican
super featherweight. Whichever sounds better to you, I guess.

Glen Johnson vs Andrzej Fonfara, Jose Luis Castillo vs Ivan Popoca.
43-year-old Johnson returns to the ESPN airwaves for a fight in Chicago
against 24-year-old Fonfara (21-2, 12 KO), a Polish-born fighter who
now lives in the Windy City. Johnson (51-16-2, 35 KO) is moving back up
to light heavyweight for this one, and is hinting that he's on his final
run in the sport.
Recent history would say he'll win this fight, and
probably do so impressively, which will give some the idea that he's
still a major threat to top fighters. But recent history also suggests
he's not that guy anymore, and won't be again. In his last six fights,
he's 2-4, with wins over Allan Green and Yusaf Mack. He's lost to Chad
Dawson (twice), Carl Froch, and Lucian Bute. Now those are good names to
lose to, but he was only really competitive -- as in, had an
argument for winning -- against Dawson the first time, and in his last
fight against Bute, he gave a pathetic non-effort.
